EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Ruger was born on the 23rd of September, 1999, in Lagos State, Western Nigeria. He hails from Lagos State Nigeria and is Yoruba By Tribe. Concrete information regarding the singer's Education, isn't certain or known for now.
MUSIC CAREER
Ruger showed interest in music right from his High School Days. He will write short songs and perform them to the hearing of his friends and everybody around him. However, Ruger came into the music scene fully after being discovered by Former Mavin Records Signee, D'Prince. Ruger got signed to Jonzing World Record Label in conjunction with two Notable Global Labels which are Sony Music Entertainment UK and Columbia Records.
In January 2021, Ruger dropped a track called "One Shirt" with Rema. The following month, he released another single called "Ruger" from his first EP, Titled 'PANDEMIC'. One of the songs from the EP, "Bounce", became a huge hit, making it to the top 50 chart in Nigeria and earning a spot on Apple Music's top Afrobeats playlist, Bounce also became the singer's Break out song as it was a melodious song talking about love with infectious beats to it.
Ruger's second EP, The Second Wave, came out in November 2021, with "Dior" as the lead single. The song climbed to number 32 on the Top 50 chart and number 15 on the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart. In November 2022, Ruger released another hit single, "Asiwaju", which shot to the top of Nigeria's Apple Music chart and stayed there for a record-breaking month, with over 100 Million Plus total streams since its release.
Ruger's debut album, ‘RU The World’, was released in September of 2023, followed by a collaborative mixtape with Bnxn titled ‘RnB’ in April 2024, which spawned the lead single, "Romeo Must Die”. So far since his career, He has worked with some of his industry comrades and Higher Industry bosses like DJ Neptune , BNXN and many more. Ruger is also known for his signature Eye Patch, which he wears covering his left eye, not that he has sight problems though.
